Will someone buy me this tractor? It is far less money than is wasted by your local government in any one day. It is less money than a fancy new pickup truck. It is less money than a campaign ad and I'd painted "donated by _____" on the hood.
Plus- I would say "thank you"
Orin could also use it. He only has one White tractor which seems a bit lonely. He would sure look good blocking Volvos around hippie-town!
This Blog does not in any Fathomable way reflect any of the current opinions or beliefs of the institution I used to work for. In fact my former employer has completely disavowed any link or reference to them in this blog.

Good luck Budde. I think its closer to you than me. Transportation would be a problem. I'd wear the tires off driving it home to Sask. Nice tractor though. I've only seen one like it here.
ReplyDeleteHow about me? You forgot me! If I had the money to spend like the government I would buy us all one!
ReplyDeleteGuess which one I am looking at?
ReplyDeleteIt isn't the pretty red one either...

Y'know, if a guy had the money lying around, that tractor would be a good investment to buy and drive to church on Sundays. There aren't that many of those around. It could be your retirement fund!
ReplyDeleteEd, I like the 1955. Fender tanks on that era Oliver just look cool with the big 38" rubber. I wish our 1850 had 'em but I'm not sure it would be the same effect with the little 34"s.
Oh, and although I have only one White I have three Olivers so the 2-135 isn't too lonely. But if anyone wants to buy it for me, hey, I'm not proud......
ReplyDeleteI think the Workhorse series Whites are about the end of the American-Made good solid tractors you can work on yourself. The sort of tractor you could keep for 40 years. The Case-IH with the Fuller transmission would be somewhat the same but the transmission is more complicated.
ReplyDeleteThe more I use my 2-155 FWA and compare it with other people's newer the more I like it. Not that I would turn down a new Challenger.
Anyway, I think Ed would look pretty good sitting in the 145. I suppose no one is going buy me the tractor so perhaps I will just forget about it.
Look on the bright side, you don't have to be disappointed when the 5.9 Cummins doesn't measure up to the 478 Hercules! Fuel economy would likely be a little better though.
