What a way to make a living! Warning graphic photos which may upset farmers!

A years production of wheat straw vs one thunderstorm!
Plus some hail
Attempting to leave the field. Stackers don't have windshield wipers as the inventor was an optimist, I suppose.

  1. I hear about rain at the wrong times ruining a crop. Does this ruin your work for the year or is there a possibility that it will dry out enough to be stored?

    Grace and peace.

    1. I think it will dry out to the point I can put it in the barn. It will be hard to sell as it is now discolored.

    2. What you need is some catchy marketing:

"Naturally weathered wheat straw, cured in the field to soften and tone."

"Replace that yellow mustard look in your horse stalls with a premium dijon."

  2. I've often said that one of the most depressing sights in the world is rain drops on the windows of a combine. I guess a bale stacker window is pretty much the same category. Those bales on their side should dry just fine given some decent drying weather.

    1. The bales are drying. That was an incredible downpour. It didn't hit my little feedstore bales very bad so if it stops raining it will not be a failure.

  3. I like the optimist machine builder. He wouldn't last 5 minutes over here!

    1. Hi Kev,
I should have never let myself get so far behind. I wonder if there were in of these stacker exported. I have never seen a photo of one used in a country other than the US. Although I know some Freeman Stackers (a local maker of hay equipment) were exported to the UAE.
